"When I joined ANDRITZ fresh out of college, simulation was mostly a training tool, a safe place for operators to practice before touching a real plant. I remember the first time I watched a virtual pulp mill respond to a trainee's decisions in real time, and thinking: if a model can teach a human, it can one day advise one. That idea has shaped my entire career. Over the past decade, I've had the chance to help carry industrial simulation across that threshold, from training simulators to digital twins that mirror live plants, and then to decision engines that tell operators not just what is happening, but what to do next. Today, I lead a team of computational scientists working on the next leap: self-adaptive, intelligent systems that learn from the plant itself and move us toward autonomous operations. What developed me most wasn't any single project. It was being trusted with hard problems early, before I felt ready. ANDRITZ gave a young engineer room to propose ideas, fail at a few, and own the ones that worked. That trust compounds. It turned me from someone who executes solutions into someone who defines problems, and now my job is to extend that same trust to my own team. If my journey has taught me anything, it's that careers aren't built by waiting to feel qualified. They're built by saying yes to problems slightly bigger than you, and growing into them.
